Academic Research Portal - Commitment to Quality and Integrity in Academic Publishing

Last Updated: January 15, 2025 | Effective Date: January 1, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to Academic Research Portal ("we," "our," or "us"). This Publication Policy governs the submission, review, and publication of academic papers, research articles, and other scholarly works on our platform. By submitting your work to Academic Research Portal, you agree to comply with this policy.

Our Mission: To facilitate the dissemination of high-quality academic research while maintaining the highest standards of scholarly integrity and ethical publishing practices.

2. Submission Guidelines

2.1 Eligibility

  • Submissions must be original works of the author(s) and not previously published elsewhere.
  • All authors must be properly credited and must consent to the submission.
  • Submissions must not contain plagiarized content or infringe upon any copyrights.
  • The submitting author must be a registered user of Academic Research Portal.

2.2 Format Requirements

  • Papers must be submitted in PDF format.
  • File size should not exceed 50 MB.
  • Papers should follow standard academic formatting guidelines (Times New Roman, 12pt font, double-spaced).
  • All submissions must include:
    • Title page with author information
    • Abstract (250-300 words)
    • Keywords (5-8 keywords)
    • Main body with proper citations
    • References/Bibliography

2.3 Originality and Plagiarism

All submissions undergo plagiarism checking through our automated systems. Papers with similarity index above 20% (excluding references) may be rejected without review. Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work.

Important: Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rejection and potential banning of the author from future submissions.

3. Peer Review Process

Step 1: Initial Screening

Upon submission, papers undergo an initial quality check by our editorial team to ensure compliance with basic formatting and originality requirements. This typically takes 2-3 business days.

Step 2: Peer Review Assignment

Papers that pass initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected from our database of qualified academics and researchers.

Step 3: Review Process

Reviewers evaluate papers based on originality, methodology, significance, and clarity. The review process typically takes 3-4 weeks. Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations.

Step 4: Editorial Decision

Based on reviewer recommendations, the editorial team makes a final decision:

Accept Minor Revisions Major Revisions Reject

Step 5: Revisions and Final Decision

Authors may be asked to revise their papers based on reviewer comments. Revised papers are typically reviewed by the original reviewers. Once accepted, papers proceed to publication.

4. Publication Ethics

4.1 Authorship

  • All listed authors must have made significant intellectual contributions to the work.
  • "Guest authorship" or "gift authorship" is strictly prohibited.
  • Corresponding authors are responsible for ensuring all co-authors approve the final version.
  • Any changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all authors.

4.2 Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could potentially bias their work. Reviewers must decline assignments where conflicts of interest exist.

4.3 Data Integrity

  • Authors must provide accurate data and methodology descriptions.
  • Data fabrication or falsification will result in immediate rejection and reporting to relevant institutions.
  • Authors should be prepared to provide raw data upon request during review.

4.4 Corrections and Retractions

  • If errors are identified after publication, authors must promptly notify the editorial office.
  • Significant errors may require publication of a correction or erratum.
  • In cases of serious misconduct or fundamental errors, papers may be retracted with explanation.

5. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors retain copyright of their work while granting Academic Research Portal the right of first publication. All published papers are distributed under the following terms:

License Type Author Rights Reader Rights
Standard License Authors retain copyright, grant publishing rights to ARP Readers may download and share with attribution
CC BY 4.0 Authors retain copyright, allow broad reuse Readers may copy, distribute, and adapt with attribution
CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 Authors retain copyright, restrict commercial use Readers may download and share with attribution, non-commercial, no derivatives

Authors may choose their preferred license during the submission process.

6. Appeals Process

Authors may appeal editorial decisions if they believe there has been a significant misunderstanding or procedural error. Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of decision and include:

  1. A detailed explanation of the grounds for appeal
  2. Point-by-point response to reviewer comments
  3. Any new evidence or clarifications

Appeals are reviewed by the editorial board, and decisions are final. Frivolous appeals may result in suspension of submission privileges.

7. Withdrawal Policy

  • Before review: Authors may withdraw their submission at any time without penalty.
  • During review: Withdrawal is permitted but discouraged. Authors should contact the editorial office.
  • After acceptance: Withdrawal is generally not permitted unless exceptional circumstances exist.
  • After publication: Papers cannot be withdrawn; corrections or retractions may be considered as outlined in Section 4.4.
Note: Repeated withdrawals may affect an author's submission privileges.

  1. Contact the editorial office at editorial@academicresearchportal.com with details of your complaint.
  2. Include relevant documentation and reference numbers.
